Wondering what the differences between the various Jeep Wrangler styles are? There's quite a few and they don't really make it clear exactly how they're different from one another. Fear not! We'll break the differences between the Wrangler, Wrangler JK, Wrangler JK Unlimited, and the Wrangler Unlimited.


So, what's the deal with the plain old Jeep Wrangler? How's it different from the Wrangler JK, JK Unlimited, and Wrangler Unlimited? It's nothing too wild really. It all boils down to doors. Yes, doors. The Wrangler is a two-door version, while the Wrangler JK is a four-door version.

The major name difference is the door styling: four compared to the Wrangler's two.

Wrangler Unlimited

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited varies from its fellow Wrangler models is numerous ways. It has room for up to four or five passengers and a spacious cargo area. Beyond this, the Wrangler Unlimited comes with a longer wheelbase! The longer wheelbase being one of the main distinguishing factors. Additionally, the Wrangler Unlimited has a removable top, doors, and windshield.

Wrangler JK Unlimited

What's the deal with the Wrangler JK Unlimited, you ask? The Wrangler JK Unlimited is, essentially, about the same vehicle with just a smaller wheelbase. Both are four-door vehicles with a seating for up to five passengers, but the Wrangler Unlimited has an extended wheelbase which provides increased interior leg and head room for Junction City and Topeka drivers to enjoy.
